Registration fees are waived for all cookie table volunteers. Please use the code COOKIE (all caps) at checkout.
An invitation to the pianists out there: We welcome and encourage the pianists who attend to play a few tunes on The Tea Room’s baby grand during the open social time. Bring along your sheet music (if needed!) and help provide a soundtrack during our social time. Think piano karaoke … with class!

Speaker Bio: Heidi S. Lepper Barrett
|I am a native born Californian (Santa Barbara to be exact) and made my way to Iowa after earning a Ph.D. in Social/Personality Psychology from the University of California in 1996. Joe, my husband, did his graduate work and I did my postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Iowa (that’s how two Californians became Iowa transplants! Go Hawks!). I began teaching at Drake University in January 2000 and that was also the year, at age 30, I was baptized Catholic alongside our first newly born son. After ten more years of loving my husband and raising our two boys, our family was relocated to Moscow, Russia for Joe’s job in January 2010. I was absolutely convinced I’d spread world happiness to ‘the Russians’ and would come home after exactly three years for that was Joe’s assignment and the length of my Drake sabbatical. God smiled down and said ‘Sweet child, your plans may not be My plans, I am nowhere close to being done with you yet.’ (Philippians 1:6) ... and my conversion to true faith began.
My talk is titled: What Our Guardian Angels Can Teach Us About Being ‘Doers of the Word’ (James 1:22)
